during the Oysho Royal Parks Half event weekend
RBC Race for the Kids, Saturday 10 October
We are pleased to announce that the RBC Race for the Kids, a Family 2km and 5km Fun Run, returns to Hyde Park on Saturday 10 October 2026.
The route for the RBC Race for the Kids event takes place entirely within Hyde Park.
Please note that the start of the race will take place on the closed section of South Carriage Drive and park pathways on the route may be busier than usual.

Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon
The Oysho Royal Parks Half Marathon will take place on Sunday 11 October 2026.
Up to 18,300 runners will be raising money for good causes. It will be necessary to close some roads in the Royal Parks and Westminster for the event to take place. All road closures have been agreed in advance with Westminster City Council and Transport for London.

- Roads within Hyde Park will be closed from 00:01 on Sunday 11 October to 05:00 on Monday 12 October
- Roads within St James’s Park will be closed from 06:00 to 18:30 on Sunday 11 October
- Roads within Westminster will be closed from 07:00 to 12:30 on Sunday 11 October
Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens will be open to the public as usual throughout the weekend. However, users may be directed to different gates to access the Parks on Sunday 11 October. Emergency vehicle access will be maintained across the route at all times.
Drivers are advised to plan their journeys in advance and allow additional time.
Cycle paths
All cycle paths in Hyde Park will be closed Friday 9 – Sunday 11 October inclusive including the Cycleway 3 on South Carriage Drive.
The Cycleway 3 will be closed through The Green Park and St James’ Park on Sunday 11 October.
All cycle routes within Kensington Gardens will be suspended on Sunday 11 October.
The Albert Approach Road in Kensington Gardens will be closed on Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 October.
The cycle lane and accessible parking bays will be suspended on both days.
