The Royal Parks is the charity that supports the magic of London’s eight amazing Royal Parks now, and in the future.
We want people to appreciate our amazing Royal Parks, which are free and available for everyone to enjoy, are home to rare species, historical monuments and listed landscapes as well as precious green space in the heart of our capital city.
We want everyone to know that these priceless green spaces need your help.
Why we’re needed
Looking after the Parks is no small task. It costs more than £35 million a year to keep the Royal Parks’ 5,000 acres safe and clean, in beautiful condition and bursting with life all year round.
The Royal Parks receive a government grant for some of the day-to-day management of the meadows, flower beds, roads and paths but there is no funding for community sport, education, heritage restoration or wildlife conservation programmes.
To make matters even more challenging, the Parks are losing 25% of their grant funding over four years and although they do a great job generating income through events and concessions like cafes, this huge reduction leaves many gaps to be filled.
That’s where we come in. We work hard (in partnership with The Royal Parks Agency) to support, protect and enhance these amazing spaces, raising funds for wildlife and nature conservation, heritage restoration, wellbeing activities and education as well as some day-to-day costs to maintain the magic of the Parks for everyone to enjoy, now and in the future.
If you’ve set foot in one of London’s Parks, it’s likely you’ve experienced our work. In 2014 we worked harder than ever to fund projects and activities across the Royal Parks and get even more people involved in supporting these amazing public spaces.
