The Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon is open to all abilities and can offer a challenge to beginner, intermediate and advanced runners. 2011 saw 12,500 runners complete the iconic and picturesque half marathon race.
The following pages have information on training for the Half Marathon, how to fundraise for your chosen charity and how to incorporate fresh air into your fitness programme. It's also where we will put full details of race day arrangements including details of baggage storage, start times and timing chip details.
For now we can tell you that the race will be preceded by a mass warm up and the route includes a number of "cheering points" to add to the festival atmosphere, where your chosen charity and supporters will urge you on. Plus, of course, there will be water, Lucozade energy stations and toilet points along the way.
You can create a Virgin Money Giving fundraising page, add your own personal touches and start collecting sponsorship in minutes.
Best half marathon I have done in years, great to have fresh air in the parks and lovely to have supporters all along the course without having to worry about the traffic.

I live in Madrid and it was worth it every pound that I spent to travel and to stay in London just for being part of this race. It was an amazing experience for me. I will recommend to my friends. Thank you!

Half Marathon was a great day. I loved travelling down to London, and to see some of the sights on race day is the best of both worlds. It gives plenty of room to run without crashing into people. You have it spot on! Top work everyone who organised the event!

The text message so soon after the event with timing details was excellent

My first half marathon and what an exhilarating experience! Running to the chimes of Big Ben in the company of thousand of runners was the best feeling in the world!

Claire ran for @Tommys_baby, perfect for shifting extra baby weight and getting a bit of time-out from being a new mum! http://t.co/mhRS2Vbc
