After months of intensive judging by 22 of the very best in the events industry, the shortlisted finalists were showcased last night at a sumptuous awards ceremony at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm.
Our beautiful city race was chosen as the winner in the Best Outdoor Event category following its significant growth since its launch in 2008.
Building on the success of previous years, our 2010 event featured a number of additions that appealed to new demographics while satisfying existing ones. These included the international challenge, which involved the charity working with a number of tourism partners to invite entrants worldwide to take part in the event; a TV documentary for Channel 4; regular training runs and workshops for participants; and the creation of the Hearts & heritage walk designed to cater for all ages and abilities.
All of this contributed to the Half Marathon selling all its public places in less than three hours, with five international teams entering. What’s more 192 charities raised £3M, including £560,000 for the Royal Parks Foundation.
Thank you to all our supporters and runners who have made it happen with us, we couldn’t have done it without you!

Claire ran for @Tommys_baby, perfect for shifting extra baby weight and getting a bit of time-out from being a new mum! http://t.co/mhRS2Vbc
