Last night saw a great turn out of runners at our first Training Workshop of 2012 in Hyde Park. With a number of stations set-up and manned by our partners Lucozade Sport and Matt Roberts Personal Training, there was a lot of useful training advice to absorb during the evening.
The workshops covered everything from warm-up and running technique, to power exercises and nutritional advice. Located in the centre of Hyde Park, it was the perfect surrounding to get everyone out in the park for hands-on advice and demonstrations.
Matt Roberts said: “It was great to meet some of the runners competing this year, and by taking the time to explain and demonstrate the importance of mobility exercises and strength building it made them realise that running is more than simply slipping on a pair of trainers. With taking the time to prepare, both mentally and physically, people can enjoy their training and ultimately the race on the day without risk of major injury. We are looking forward to sharing our expertise with more people in the next few weeks. For anyone is not able to attend we have created a special running resource available at www.mattroberts.co.uk”
Take a look at some photos from the evening on Facebook (and don’t forget to tag yourself if you were there!).
