Is the 2020 special edition of the Royal Parks Half Marathon on Sunday 11 April 2021 cancelled?
The event is not cancelled, but due to the ongoing nature of the Covid-19 pandemic and current restrictions on mass gatherings, for one unique year we’ll be changing things up by bringing the Royal Parks Half to YOU on Sunday 11 April 2021.
So, we’re asking you, our amazing community, to come on this journey with us. This is such a unique position for us to be in; the virus and all its wide-reaching affects has significantly impacted the Royal Parks Half and so many other charity events. So, at this critical moment for UK charities like ours, and our 500+ charity partners – we’re asking for your help. Can we count on your support? For more detail, please see our press release here.
Why has this decision been made?
We have explored a number of possibilities, including what a socially distanced event could look like. However, based on the complexities surrounding social distancing at mass participation events, the current Covid situation in the UK, and the potential impact on the NHS, we do not feel it would be appropriate to proceed with the event in its original format. Our re-imagined event will allow runners to complete the special edition of the 2020 Royal Parks Half Marathon safely and within government guidelines while still providing an awesome experience thanks to a new, state-of-the-art Royal Parks Half app, designed specifically for the April event.
What experience can I expect from the Royal Parks Half in April?
The race is coming to you via our brand-new, state-of-the-art Royal Parks Half app, designed specifically for the April event.
